Settling-In Values

Overview

Parameters held in under the settling_in_values lookup set key comprise constants that are used the estimation of historic rutting and roughness deterioration rates. The settling in values are pressumed to represent the initial rut and roughness values soon after construction.

By subtracting these settling-in values from the current rut and roughness value and then considering the surface age, an approximate estimation of the current rut and roughness deterioration rate is obtained for use in the initial stages of the element’s deterioration.

Lookup Set Key

The key to identify this set in the model code is ‘settling_in_values’ (case-sensitive)

Change Level

Parameters held under the settling_in_values lookup set generally do NOT need to be modified for each network.

Lookup Parameters

Parameters contained in this lookup set are detailed below. Note that parameter keys are case-sensitive.

setting_key setting_value comment
rut 3 Assumed 'settling in' value for Naasra (roughness) after construction. This value plays a role in determining the slope of the estimated historical deterioration rate
naasra 70 Assumed 'settling in' value for rutting after construction. This value plays a role in determining the slope of the estimated historical deterioration rate
Important

Values shown under the column ‘setting_value’ are defaults/example values. You should take responsibility to understand and modify these values for each project based on your specific network configuration.
